...Has anyone heard of Hindu-Push ups?
If you havent, boy have I got news for you. Quite simply, they work (they almost made me forego yoga till I found it was actually Yogic) and you need to check them out.
In doing research for an article I wrote a while back concerning yoga and Calisthenics, I stumbled on a unique form of an upper body exercise known as Hindu-Push ups. Immediately, I was intrigued by the name as I knew anything Hindu will inevitably be from India and as such may be related to yoga.
I clicked on the associated link and came across a description of a totally different kind of push up. Now, although Im big into exercise and health, one exercise I never really cared too much for is doing push-ups, I just never liked them and only did them occasionally out of necessity.
However, these Hindu Push ups seemed different and the benefits associated with them actually sold me to try a few out on the spot.

Pet yoga: This is a nice idea, but this is for friendly and house trained pets, only, unless you teach the class outside. Dog yoga has been referred to as Doga. This is a great workshop concept, as long as there are no hostile pets present.
Chair yoga: Most of these classes are held at senior centers, assisted living complexes, nursing homes, and physical rehabilitation facilities. It will be hard to establish a following at most yoga studios, as this group is less mobile and transportation is a big issue.

Karma yoga, the yoga of selfless service, is good for the soul because giving of yourself feels good. If giving of yourself is something you want to do, then adding some sort of service or volunteer work will fulfill that desire in you.
And lastly, and definitely the most important in my opinion, yoga will increase your love for yourself. When you love yourself, you project that out into the world sincerely because it comes from within YOU and it is an expression of your true Self and true nature.
